Ceiling

In accounting ceiling is the net realizable value of stock or inventories. It is the estimated selling price of an asset in ordinary course of business less estimated cost of completion of sale process and estimated expenses necessary to make that sale

 NRV or cash realizable value = estimated selling price of an asset-(estimated cost of completion+ expenses needed to make the sale)

According to accounting standards it is compulsory to compute the inventories value at the lower of cost and NRV
